Organic/Raw Food/Juicing Community House:

Community Members WANTED!

Location:  University Place
Large sunny peaceful community shared house with organic garden and view of the water looking for mature housemates and co-tenants.   We are laid back and quiet. Whole Foods, and we have Harbor Greens as well which has locations in Gig Harbor and University Place.  Please be advised we are Work With Christian and other Organizations.  We celebrate the Torah.
The style of the house is "Vintage Craftsman" with antiques and real art.  There are two traditional craftsman bedrooms available, there is a very large shared kitchen with a view and living room with charming gas fireplace and sitting room/office area.  We also have a pool table and entertainment area with another wood stove.   It is great to sit in front of in the Winter when it is cold and gray outside.

There is small guard dog on premises.  Persons with animal allergies be advised that on site doggy is short hair and rarely sheds but still could cause allergies.  We do not allow cats but would consider another small dog if the temperment and gender was appropriate.   This is on a case by case basis.

We are looking for quiet laid back people who enjoy art and intellectual pursuits and consider themselves progressive in their ideas and the way they like to live their life.  Smoking is only allowed outside in a specific area.  Rooms are partially furnished.  We do not have extra storage for furniture and other items.  We do have a shop and work areas for art and other projects.   Our housemates are individuals that are thoughtful and like projects and art as much as we do!

Thank You Blanco Fixture Company! and Tacoma Lowes Helping Novices!

Our Easy Blanco Repair!!!!  Thank You Blanco!!!!
(And Rusty at Tacoma, WA Lowes)

Community Living has it's share of problems but along with daily living with other human beings can be regular housing problems like PLUMBING...We wanted to share this story because this is how it used to be in AMERICA...We have a Blanco Harvest Faucet in the Kitchen.  12 years ago when it was installed it retailed for over $1000.00, (the set) a customer who wanted one...changed his mind and just gave us the faucet back.  He was gettting on in years and then purchased a $2500.00 faucet set.   Money was no object...but when we tried to sell him a less expensive one...he said no...he wanted something to last longer than he would.

BLANCO kitchen faucets are designed for the way you live – from colorful faucets that enhance the look of your kitchen, to environmentally friendly models that conserve water. They’re all created from high-quality materials with features like solid brass body construction for the ultimate in durability. Best of all, there are over 100 shape, size and color combinations available to fit your kitchen.
Bart became a great friend and sadly passed away at age 89 4 years after the install...his Blanco System is still going strong...every time we look at the faucet I think of him, "Bart" a cantankerous old codger that would argue politics...

He tended to be more conservative... but what we did agree on was that America should have factories here and build products like we used to and compete with Germans, not the Chinese.  Blanco is heavy duty and so well made...   We also both agreed that most problems could be solved with Engineering.

Blanco has great designs, German Engineering and this faucet set has held up to alot of wear and tear and outright abuse.

My more liberal friends do not always agree with me about America...but one thing we do know...Engineering and persistance get Americans alot farther along than politicians and this is what you are thinking when you are being sprayed by hot water from a broken faucet and facing a repair that could cost ALOT!.

Anyway, to make a long story short we got bids to fix the faucet when the handle went catty wampuss and was shooting spray all around.   Several hundred dollars to have a local plumber co, essentially order a part...and repair.   We simply contacted Blanco and a part was shipped out immediately.  FOR FREE They said it would take 2-4 weeks, presumably, coming from Germany...they sent a stronger handle than the one we had before...however it arrived in about TWO days...talk about customer service.

We then trapsed down to our local Tacoma Lowe's and talked to RUSTY, the plumbing Guru and purchased what is known as a "strap wrench."  ($13.95)...this gizmo lets you take apart a faucet without marking it all up.  It does look a bit kinky we admit...but it works really well...Thank you Blanco...thank you Rusty....thank you kinky strap wrench...we are back in business!   Sunny

We Love Our French Chickens (Nous Aimons Poulets Francais!)

We love our chickens, French Chickens that lay very brown eggs.  Mary, Jane,  Sarah, Jo, and Kellie...we let them free range in the garden all day and then inside the house in the basement at night.   We are working on a chicken coop but frankly our preference is indoors because it is nice and cook in the base...and very safe.

Harmony Healing Heart Services is Getting Chicks!

Oh my!  Spring is Here and a trip down to Tacoma Organic Gardensphere...wow, look at those beautiful chicks!   We decided to get baby chicks this year and to have delicious organic eggs using natural grasses, and organic chicken chow!...Thank you to the helpful staff at Gardensphere.   100% Organic Methods! Gabe and Travis and everyone...really care about the chicks they sell.  Unlike other other outlets, they let the chicks rest and recover from their travels and feed them organic food to get their growth really right!

We purchased (3) Cuckoo Marens and (2) Buff Orpingtons.

Named:  Jane, Mary, (after a famous couple)  Jo and Sarah and not to forget Kellie.
